Solitude at Sunset Postcard

A lone Grey Heron perches on a dead branch at dusk, seeking solitude and admiring the fiery colours of the skies right before the sun sets. The ocean glistens with gold as the last rays of light shine over the horizon. Just like the heron, Pasir Ris Park has always been a place I visit to seek solitude, as it is a place that makes me feel at peace with myself. Being one of the first places where I started wildlife photography, it holds a special place in my heart. This photo was taken back in 2022. I remember taking off my slippers and stepping into the intertidal zone in excitement when I saw a heron land on the dead branch. Balancing my camera and lens on a log, I quickly burst away, ignoring how dirty I was. This was when I realised that I truly have a passion for this hobby.
