Andromeda Galaxy
This photo of the Andromeda Galaxy marks a significant milestone. It was taken on my first overseas astronomy trip — spontaneous, solo, and serendipitous. Upon arrival, I discovered my resort was closed, so I set up my gear on a random patch of grass and was immediately swarmed by mosquitoes. Looking up, I noticed what I thought were clouds drifting across the sky. Disheartened, I looked again — and my breath caught as I realised it was the Milky Way, shimmering in front of my eyes for the first time in my life.
