Panthera leo

The relationship between the oxpecker and the giraffe is one of nature's fascinating examples of mutualism, where two different species benefit from each other. Oxpeckers feed on ticks, dead skin, and other parasites found on the giraffe’s skin while the giraffe enjoys some relief from irritating parasites. Here, an oxpecker has fed its way up the neck, eventually settling between the horns of the giraffe.
